Role Overview

As the Head of Data, you will be responsible for overseeing our entire data ecosystem, from data strategy development to the successful implementation of data-driven initiatives.

You will build and lead a data team and collaborate with cross-functional teams to unlock the full potential of our data assets.

Reporting directly to the VP of Product, you will play a critical role in shaping our data roadmap, ensuring data quality and integrity, and driving data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Data Strategy and Roadmap: Develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy that aligns with our business objectives. Define and prioritize data initiatives, ensuring their successful execution and contribution to the company's growth.
• Data Governance and Quality: Establish robust data governance practices to ensure data security, compliance, and accuracy. Implement data quality controls and procedures to maintain a high standard of data integrity.
• Data Architecture and Infrastructure: Collaborate with the IT and Engineering teams to design and maintain an efficient and scalable data infrastructure. Identify opportunities to enhance data storage, processing, and retrieval capabilities.
• Data Analysis and Insights: Oversee the generation of data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making and optimize business processes. Identify trends, patterns, and opportunities from various data sources to drive innovation and competitive advantage.
• Data Privacy and Compliance: Stay up-to-date with data protection regulations and ensure that data handling and processing practices comply with relevant laws and industry standards.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with key stakeholders, including executives, department heads, and external partners, to understand data needs and deliver actionable insights to drive business growth.
• Innovation and Best Practices: Stay current with industry trends and best practices in data management, analytics, and emerging technologies. Drive innovation and continuous improvement in data-related processes and methodologies.

Requirements

• Proven Leadership Experience: Demonstrated success in leading and managing data teams. Previous experience as a Head of Data, Director of Data, or similar role is preferred.
• Technical Expertise: Strong technical knowledge in data management, analytics, data engineering, and data visualization. Familiarity with data tools, platforms, and technologies is essential.
• Data Strategy and Governance: Proven experience in developing data strategies and implementing data governance frameworks.
• Business Acumen: Ability to align data initiatives with business objectives and drive data-driven decision-making at all levels of the organization.
• Collaborative and Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Analytical Mindset: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to derive insights from complex data sets.
